A London tattoo removal studio is offering to remove tattoos of Kanye West free of charge following the recent controversy surrounding the rapper.

NAAMA Studios in central London usually offers such treatment for about £2,000, depending on the size and style of the tattoo.

West has faced a widespread backlash over the past few months after making a number of offensive comments.

In October, the rapper shared anti-semitic posts on Twitter, leading to brands such as Adidas and Balenciaga cutting ties with him.

Losing the Adidas deal knocked West off the Forbes billionaire list, with the rapper claiming that he lost $2 billion in one day.

As a result of his controversial behaviour, former fans of the rapper may be considering removing any ink tributes to him.

One former Kanye fan, Alex Jones, 25, has decided to have his tattoo of the alternative cover for Kanye’s 2010 My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album removed.

He told NAAMA Studios: “Having a tattoo related to Kanye isn’t exactly something to shout about given his hugely distasteful comments recently.

“When I found out I could get it removed for free, I was really pleased. NAAMA has a great reputation for tattoo removal, so I was super grateful to start my removal journey with them and put this behind me, so I look forward to having it done.”

Briony Garbett, CEO of NAAMA Studios, said: “We all hope that the tattoos we get will always have a special meaning to us, however, you can never predict the future and how that might affect your view of your tattoo.

“When you have a tattoo inspired by someone you admire and they start making headlines for all the wrong reasons, it’s not exactly something you want to wear on your sleeve that you are or were a fan.”

Former fans of West, whose legal name is Ye, can share their tattoo on Instagram and tag @naamastudios for the chance to get their ink removed for free.
