London sees ‘record-breaking surge’ in rental prices as house prices dip

London’s annual percentage change in private rental prices was the highest since the records for London started in January 2006, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Within England, London had the highest annual percentage change in private rental prices in the 12 months to August, at 5.9 per cent.
