At least Two Tory MPs have called on Boris Johnson to withdraw his remarks about Jimmy Savile aimed at Sir Keir Starmer after the Labour leader was mobbed by protesters on Monday evening.
Protesters chanted the vile sex offender’s name as officers escorted Sir Keir to a police vehicle.
It came as Mr Johnson continued his Downing Street shake-up with confirmation that another aide has left his team.
Special adviser Henry Newman, seen as close to the Mr Johnson’s wife Carrie, is returning to work for his former boss Michael Gove and has left in a “mutually agreed decision with the Prime Minister”.
The Prime Minister's official spokesman said there would be further changes “in the coming days”.
Meanwhile, Sajid Javid refused three times to rule out a leadership bid if Boris Johnson is removed from office.
As it stands, approximately 15 MPs have publicly called for Mr Johnson to resign, although 54 letters of no-confidence are needed to trigger a leadership election.
Mr Johnson announced new appointments over the weekend including Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster Steve Barclay as chief of staff and journalist Guto Harri as head of communications.
