Sir Sadiq Khan has blasted politicians he says are “spreading misinformation” about safety in the capital - as new figures show the number of violent crimes leading to injury has fallen in every borough over the past year.
Figures from the London mayor’s office for policing and crime, which compare the 12 months ending in August with the previous 12 months, showed there were 8,749 fewer crimes which resulted in someone being hurt – a drop of nearly 12% – across the capital over that time.
