London Covid infections may have peaked after Christmas wave

Total Covid infections in London fell at the start of the month, in fresh evidence the current wave may have peaked – though levels have yet to start dropping in all parts of the country.

Around 3.5 per cent of Londoners were estimated to have caught the virus in the week up to January 3, according to the Office for National Statistics.
