NEW DELHI: With the Lok Sabha witnessing stalemate over Manipur violence, speaker Om Birla on Tuesday convened a meeting of the leaders of all political parties and appealed to those protesting in the House to consult within their respective parties and revisit the issue.
According to sources, Birla convened an all-party meeting in the afternoon in a bid to break the deadlock and find a solution to the existing deadlock between the treasury benches and the opposition over the ethnic violence in the northeastern state. The meeting was convened in the speaker’s chamber.
