Logan Storley provided the upset as he won a split decision against Michael Page in a frustrating fight to become the new interim Bellator welterweight title.
Page was scheduled to fight undisputed champion Yaroslav Amosov in the main event of the London event, but the Ukrainian withdrew to help fight on the frontline against Russia's invasion of his native country.
Storley looked to keep out of range to avoid Page's unorthodox kicks early on, with the American taking him down at the first chance he could get. The London crowd was getting restless in the second round as Storley continued to smother Page on the ground.
The talented wrestler had no interest in standing with Page and wrestled him for the entire third round, but landed few very significant strikes. Page had more success defending the American's takedowns and landed some good shots in the fourth.
Page continued to fend off Storley's takedowns in the final round as he offered no offense on the mat. The judges saw it 48-47, 47-48, and 49-46 after the final bell to crown xxx the new interim champion.
In the co-main event, Fabian Edwards picked up the biggest win of his career by knocking out MMA veteran Lyoto Machida in the first round. A big elbow from Edwards stunned Machida, who was knocked out cold after two left hooks and some follow up punches.
UK legend Paul Daley finished his career in fitting fashion by knocking out Wendell Giacomo with a brutal right hand. Daley, who turned professional almost two decades ago, was outgrappled by Giacomo for two rounds, but exploded with a big overhand to score the 35th knockout of his career.
