Logan Paul fan pays £40,000 for share of multi-million-dollar fight purse

Logan Paul will give one per cent of the revenue from his next fight to a fan who spent just over £40,000 for his latest NFT.

The YouTube star has tried to pick up a victory in the boxing ring on three occasions, but as yet is still searching for the first notch in his win column. And he appears to be plotting a return to action after his brother Jake fights at Madison Square Garden in August, with fans getting involved early through his new NFT project.

Paul has been auctioning off polaroids from his '99 Originals' collection to fans online for the past few weeks, offering impressive perks with certain purchases. And his new picture, which sold for 40.25ETH or around $43,5000 comes with a small share of his next fight purse, expected to be far more than the £4million this investor would need in order to net a profit.

The social media star has defied a bear market in the cryptocurrency space to make over £500,000 from his NFT sales thus far, which are done through Ethereum. He will also give one per cent of his next fight's revenue to holders in his Originals DAO, meaning Decentralized Autonomous Organisation or in layman's terms holders of his NFTs.

"Big perks today," Paul told fans on Instagram ahead of today's auction. "The buyer of today's original will get one per cent of my next fight and so will the Originals DAO. I'm continuing to try to pump as much value as I can into this entity. The market's s*** right now but we are not, we are thriving, the community's growing, it's all good."

His polaroid picture, entitled 'who am i' is No.19 in his collection, which was taken over 99 days last summer and took in a number of significant moments in the social media star's life. This photo is a selfie of Paul wearing a mask while on a plane out of Geneva.

"9:30am. Full of peace as we drive to the Geneva airport," the item's description reads. "Looking out the window at the dreary Swiss landscape. The fog, cloud, rain and snow haven’t left since I jumped off the mountain. I’ve almost completed this body of work… a lifetime of memories in 99 days.”

Paul has yet to announce his next fight, but has already sold a place on his ring walk as part of his NFT project. One fan spent a whopping £50,000 for the privilege, alongside a photo of Paul's broken hand that he suffered last summer.

The winners of these bids remain anonymous, but are given ownership of the physical polaroid photos as well as the digital NFT. The fan who will walk him to the ring has yet to identify themselves on social media.

His last fight was against Floyd Mayweather in an outrageous exhibition bout, where he was allowed to weigh in 35lb heavier than the boxing legend. The bout went the distance and wasn't scored, meaning Paul has now gone without a win in his three boxing matches after drawing and then losing to KSI in their two meetings.
