The school attended by murdered five-year-old Logan Mwangi has issued a poignant and powerful tribute to a "friendly, energetic, and popular little boy" after his killers were jailed. The Bridgend schoolboy was murdered before his body was dumped in a river near his home last year.
Logan's mother Angharad Williamson, 31, of Lower Llansantffraid, Sarn, Bridgend, and stepdad John Cole, 40, of Maesglas, Ynysawdre, Bridgend, along with a third defendant who cannot be named for legal reasons, were locked up for a combined 72 years at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday. After the case concluded a statement was issued on behalf of Logan's school which said: "The pupils, teachers, staff and governors at Tondu Primary School were all devastated to learn of the death of Logan Mwangi and the school community remains shocked and deeply saddened by his loss. As a friendly, energetic, and popular little boy Logan leaves us with many fond memories. He was a loving, sweet-natured child who was polite and articulate at all times.
