Location, Location, Location found itself in south Wales for this week's edition of the Channel 4 property show. During the episode, Phil Spencer had a huge challenge on his hands as he got to work helping a couple who have had countless set backs in their search for the 'perfect' home.
Lara from Cwmbran and partner Bob, who is originally from Dublin, brought their case to the LLL Team after being unsuccessful ten times in their attempts to buy their first home together. With a maximum budget of £410,000, the young couple had a few provisos, though. They were desperate to be close to Cardiff city centre in the hope of enjoying some of the city's best bars and restaurants, have plenty of space (mainly for Lara's expansive wardrobe) and their main condition: There has to be plenty of parking.
Determined to find a house in the Pontcanna or Canton area of the city, Phil gathered a selection of properties in the hope of finding the couple's "lucky number 11". “We have to bring your search to an end,” he enthusiastically declared before he got to work. Here's how he did. You can get more TV news and other story updates straight to your inbox by subscribing to our newsletters here.

First up was a property in Whitchurch and whilst the location wasn't ideal for Lara and Bob, they were impressed by the house's features. On the market for £380,000, it was perfectly affordable but upon further inspection, the couple concluded that there was simply too much work to be done and it might set them back more money that they'd initially planned.
Then, Phil showed them a house in Roath. Unfortunately, the couple quickly decided against it as there was barely any parking in the area - One of their main conditions.
It was the third property that Phil showed the couple that really struck a chord. Located in Gabalfa and a perfect blend of the old and the new, Lara and Bob were head over heels with the house. At a price of £360,000, it was definitely within their budget but to test whether this was truly the one, Phil showed them one final house in Canton.
Whilst both Lara and Bob thought the Canton house was nice (and there was parking), they ultimately chose Property Three. But would their offer of £360,000 be accepted? Luckily for the pair, it was and they'd finally found their "perfect" home. “I’m so excited to get out of the flat," said Lara, who looked over the moon. Bob, meanwhile, said: "It should be the perfect home for us." A round of applause to Phil! Catch up on the episode on All4. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
