The prestigious Locarno Film Festival continues to make waves in the film industry with its recent formation of an advisory board for its industry side. This new development has attracted top indie industry figures to join as members, including former Amazon Studios film executive Ted Hope, Bobby Allen of Mubi, and Beki Probst, the former European Film Market chief.
Headed by Nadia Dresti, a seasoned professional with nearly 30 years of experience at Locarno, the industry advisory board aims to engage in ongoing conversations with industry professionals to address issues related to the festival's future. Dresti expressed her delight in the initiative, emphasizing the importance of collaborating with industry experts to provide invaluable industry insights.
The board also includes Edna Epelbaum, CEO of Cinevital and president of the Swiss Cinema Association; Marion Klotz, head of the Locarno Industry Academy training program; Emmanuel Cuénod, head of the Swiss Digital Creation Hub; and Gerardo Michelin, founder of a Latin American cinema trade website.
The festival saw a historic moment last July when Maja Hoffman became its first female president, succeeding Marco Solari. With a legacy spanning over 70 years, the Locarno Film Festival continues to evolve and innovate under the leadership of its visionary board members and president.
Mark your calendars for the 77th Locarno Film Festival, scheduled to take place from August 7 to 17. Stay tuned for the latest updates and exciting developments from this iconic event at the forefront of the international film industry.
