Kenya: Locals want 'Turkana Boy' to come home to cradle of humanity

A skeleton billed as being the oldest complete human remains ever found is at the heart of Kenya's latest tourism campaign. "Turkana Boy" is a symbol of the country's positioning as the cradle of humanity. But people living near the site where the archaeological treasure was found say they feel sidelined.

Also in this edition, Zimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangawa has delivered his state of the nation address. As the country's months-old currency faces growing pains, Mnangawa tried to persuade the country that there are still some glimmers of hope to the ZiG's longer-term prospects.

And there are concerns that Ghana could see a spike in cacao smuggling after neighbouring Ivory Coast hiked the price of the crop. Cacao is the starting point of chocolate and after a long period of erratic weather in West Africa, global wholesale prices have tripled in a year. But farmers say they're still being shortchanged.
