Constituents can cast their votes in the local elections today.
The time has come for the people of Greater Manchester to have their say on who they think should run their local public services, including schools, libraries and bin collections. Voters in our region will be choosing at least one councillor in each ward.
Hundreds of candidates will be eager to win seats on the region's 10 councils across Greater Manchester. Elections are taking place across the country for more than 200 local authorities, including all 33 London boroughs and 34 metropolitan boroughs in England.

If you're casting your vote today, then make sure to do so between 7am and 10pm. You won't be allowed to vote after the polling stations close at 10pm this evening.
Voters aren't given a designated time slot, so there is no need to arrive at a specific time. If you're registered to vote, you will have received your poll card.
This tells you where you need to go to vote, which is your polling station. You don't have to take the card with you in order to vote. But you can only vote at the polling station location on your card.
When you arrive, you'll have to give your name and address to the staff inside the polling station. Then you'll be given a ballot paper containing a list of the people, parties or options you can vote for.
