Travellers told to stay away from Edinburgh Waverly station earlier this afternoon (June 24) have been informed that services are now running as normal.
It comes after a road accident near the railway on Thursday (June 24) between Newcastle and Edinburgh caused "severe disruption" to selected services.
As a result, limited trains were in place between Newcastle and Edinburgh though in an update, LNER has said people should still plan ahead before travelling as they are still "experiencing high volume of customers".

The tweet by LNER reads: "Services between Newcastle and Edinburgh have resumed to the existing timetable. We are experiencing high volume of customers so please check here before you travel."
If you still need to travel, LNER state on their website that tickets dated June 24 will still remain valid for travel to Edinburgh and Glasgow on Avanti West Coast and within Scotland on ScotRail.

They add: "Due to industrial action we've also extended our ticket validity. Tickets dated for travel on 21, 23 and 25 June are valid for travel on:
- Saturday 25 June
- Sunday 26 June
- Monday 27 June
- Tuesday 28 June
"Please check your train before you travel and reserve a seat."
If you cannot travel due to the changes, you will be entitled to a full refund which can be found here.
