Lizzo hits back at Kanye West's vile comment about her weight in the best way possible

Lizzo has seemingly hit back at vile comments Kanye West made about her weight.

The controversial rapper told Fox News she was being used incorrectly to promote a “genocide of the Black race”.

He added every time Lizzo posts on social media about losing weight, ‘bots’ and ‘media’ attack her to “put out a perception being overweight is the new goal, when it’s actually unhealthy”.

Although Lizzo didn’t explicitly name Kanye, the My Skin singer appeared to address his comments during a gig in Toronto over the weekend.

As a huge picture of her with the words ‘My body, my choice’ across her chest lit up on the screen, she told the crowd she was “minding my fat, Black, beautiful business”.

The crowd cheered as the 34-year-old continued: “I feel like everybody in America got my mother******* name in their mother******* mouth for no mother******* reason."

Lizzo – whose real name is Melissa Jefferson – then joked: “Can I stay here? [in Canada] Who can I marry for that dual citizenship?”

She also shared the ‘My body, my choice’ clip with her 13 million followers on Instagram, writing only a full stop in the caption – or period as it’s called in America.

Former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland reposted the reel in her Instagram stories writing: “Tell ‘EM!!! I fxckin’ love you.”

Fans were also quick to show their support with many writing ‘love you’ and calling Lizzo a ‘Queen’.

In a dig at Kanye, one fan commented: “PERIOD!!! Don’t let nobody with baby momma issues and an overbite talk about your body!!”

Another chimed in: “This is for Ye talking that smack.”

“This made me well up with tears... thank you,” said a third, while a fourth wrote: “You are everything.”

A fifth fan added: “Make no mistake. You are a role model to women and little girls everywhere – I mean EVERYWHERE. Don’t EVER change and don’t EVER let anyone tell you otherwise.”

And it isn’t the only thing Kanye has been saying lately that has landed him in hot water.

He was suspended from Instagram over the weekend after a now-removed post was deemed "anti-Semitic".

The message allegedly accused a musician of being controlled by “the Jewish people”.

As he couldn’t post any more content on the platform, the rapper switched to Twitter for the first time in two years.

But it wasn’t long before he was doing the same thing and some of his posts were again removed for “violating the Twitter rules”.

Posting a blurry photo singing karaoke with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Kanye joked: “Look at this Mark. How you gone kick me off Instagram.”

He also retweeted a message from new Twitter owner Elon Musk which said: “Welcome back to Twitter, my friend!”

The latest outburst comes after Kanye caused controversy at Paris Fashion Week by wearing a T-shirt with the slogan ‘White Lives Matter’.
