Livingston Women’s striker Ashley Elizabeth admits she’s not too downbeat after the Lionesses were hit late on and forced to settle for a 3-3 draw away at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Elizabeth bundled home Livi’s leveller after they had fallen behind before Beth McKay pounced on a great Raewyn Murphy pass to fire the away side into the lead.
Caley hit back in the back and forth affair before the SWF Championship leaders looked to have snatched all three points when Brogan Anderson swept home on 79 minutes.
The hosts had other ideas, though, and secured a share of the spoils late on but Elizabeth insists a draw is still a positive outcome despite the late disappointment.
Speaking to the Courier, she said: “It’s always tough to go up there and they’re a very good team so overall I think we’re pretty happy to take a draw.
“I’m glad I got on the scoresheet too although it wasn’t the prettiest of goals. I’ve no clue what part of my body it hit but the ball’s in the back of the net so that’s all that counts.”
It was the second successive game in which three separate players found the net, something the striker admits is a huge bonus for the club.
She said: “It takes so much pressure off the individual players when you know there’s folk all over the park who will chip in.
“A couple of defenders scored last week and Beth (McKay) has come into the team and got three in three so it’s good that everyone can score goals.”
Livi's lead at the top of the third-tier is now 12 points as they head into Sunday's home clash with Renfrew with the striker eyeing up a return to winning ways - although she knows that's not going to be an easy task.
She said: "I'm looking forward to it and it's going to be a big game. It's a very difficult one but we're confident and hopefully we can come away with a win.
"Everybody needs to turn up but that's the same with every game because they're all hard and every team in this league is a very good team."
