Livingston winger Josh Mullin admits he made a mistake in leaving the club on loan last term.
The 29-year-old featured once as a substitute in the League Cup group stages before making a loan switch to Championship outfit Hamilton Accies.
But he’s confessed that was the wrong decision and he’s determined to prove he can be a part of the plans back in West Lothian this term.
And he kicked off the season in style with a goal in their 3-2 victory over Albion Rovers in their Premier Sports Cup opener at the weekend.
He said: “It’s great to be back. I’ll be the first to say that I probably shouldn’t have went out on loan last season but that’s the way it’s worked out.
“I wanted to make sure I got back and worked hard and, including the friendly against Linlithgow, I’ve scored four in two games.
“I want to keep that up and when I get my chance on the pitch, score and set up goals and work for the team.”
“I had to come back in and make a real impression. It’s just to be good at Livingston.”
Boss David Martindale added that he’s delighted the former Albion Rovers man has elected to stay at the club, but minutes on the park will have to be well-earned.
He commented: “Josh will need to work hard but I’m delighted he’s chose to stay here this season after asking to go out on loan last season.
“Wide areas are probably the areas where you’re looking to change things up the most in games so it’s good to have that option.
“He’s done well in the games he’s played but there’s aspects of his game that he understands I need more from and if he can add that then I think he’ll be very effective for us.”
