Livingston sign former Hearts and Morton keeper Jack Hamilton following Max Stryjek departure

Livingston have moved to replace Max Stryjek by signing former Morton stopper Jack Hamilton.

The 28-year-old has been training with the Premiership club for a few weeks and has now put pen to paper. He's expected to compete with Ivan Konovalov for the primary back-up role behind Shamal George.

Hamilton, who played in all 36 Championship games for the 'Ton last season, has previous top flight experience with both Hearts and Dundee. he became a free agent in the summer after electing to turn down a new deal at Cappielow. Ironically, Morton boss Dougie Imrie then signed Livingston keeper Brian Schwake on loan for the campaign.

Livi boss David Martindale said: "Jack has been in training with us for a few weeks now and looking really good. I know he had a top season at Morton last season and he had a few offers to stay in the Championship.

“Jack has over 250 games under his belt with over 55 games in the Premiership and played previously in European competition. He has represented Scotland at all levels bar the first-team so he comes with a wealth of experience and gives us real competition in the goalkeeper area.

“I have been impressed with him since he has been in at the club and I’m delighted to get a deal over the line.”

Stryjek left the club yesterday to sign for English League One outfit Wycombe Wanderers, ending a two-year stint in West Lothian.
