Livingston FC players to wear special laces in support of Tourette's Awareness Month

Livingston FC’s men’s and women’s team will wear teal laces in their home fixtures this weekend to support Tourette’s Awareness Month.

The men’s first team will take to the pitch on Saturday against Dundee United with the special laces, while the women will do the same the following day in their SWF Championship clas with Rossvale.

After the match, the team will be presented with the trophy having won the league and promotion to SWPL2.

Head of Commercial & Media Operations at Livingston FC, Dave Black said: “We’re pleased to be able to help raise awareness for Tourette Scotland during this Tourette’s Awareness Month by supporting their Teal for Tourette’s campaign.

“The charity has put in a tremendous amount of work and we’re more than happy to help do our bit to support this during their month of awareness.

“Both of our men’s and women’s first-team were keen to do their bit too and hopefully, alongside the usual hard work from the charity, we can all come together to get people talking and better educated on Tourette’s Syndrome.”

Kyla McDonald, Chairperson of Tourette Scotland added: “Livingston FC have given tremendous support to our charity over the past few years and we are delighted they are backing our Teal laces campaign for awareness month.

“In the first year of our new laces campaign to have the support of my local football team is absolutely fantastic.

“he campaign has really captured the imagination of our members and we have actually had people from all across the UK contacting us to say they will be sporting their Teal laces throughout awareness month.”

She added: “It will be fantastic to see the men’s and women’s teams out on the pitch sporting the laces on the big day. Livingston have done a lot of excellent work in the community over a number of years. This further underlines that commitment.

“Everyone at Tourette Scotland is delighted to have their support in this campaign.”

Tourette’s Awareness Month is an international annual event that runs from May 15 to June 15.

You can get involved this year by supporting the Teal For Tourette’s laces campaign too. They can be purchased here for only £2.
