(Picture: Daniel Lynch)At the heart of English maritime history, the Royal Borough of Greenwich is these days also home to a family village with a fine choice of Georgian homes in elegant crescents, streets and squares — for those who can afford them.
Among famous residents are outgoing Prime Minister Liz Truss — who today made her farewell speech from outside 10 Downing Street — and former Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng. Both live on the west side of the royal park while Foreign Secretary James Cleverly is based in nearby Blackheath.
