Liverpool XI vs Watford: Confirmed starting lineup, team news and injury latest for Premier League game today

Trent Alexander-Arnold is fit for the bench in today’s Premier League clash between Liverpool and Watford, as he nears the end of a hamstring injury.

The right-back suffered the problem ahead of last month’s FA Cup tie at Nottingham Forest, ruling him out of England duty during the international break.

It was initially said Alexander-Arnold will be out “for weeks”, putting his participation in the upcoming Champions League clash with Benfica and the title showdown with Manchester City also in doubt.

However, the Reds boss issued a positive update on Friday, confirming the defender is back in full training.

In his place, Joe Gomez deputised at the City Ground and the defender continues at Anfield against Watford, with Alexander-Arnold among the substitutes.

James Milner is fit for the bench too after illness kept him out of action for a spell last month, while Naby Keita is absent due to a knee injury. Curtis Jones starts in midfield.

Liverpool XI: Alisson; Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Jones, Thiago; Salah, Firmino, Jota.

Subs: Kelleher, Fabinho, Konate, Milner, Mane, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tsimikas, Diaz, Alexander-Arnold.
