Liverpool XI vs Brentford: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League today

Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson both start for Liverpool against Brentford today as they bid farewell to Anfield.

After a torrid defence of their Premier League crown, Liverpool can finish no higher than fourth in Arne Slot’s second season - but the Reds are in danger of slipping into the Europa League on the final day.

The good news is that a point will be enough to confirm fifth, and with it, a spot in next season’s Champions League. However, Brentford are not a side lacking something to play for on the final day of the Premier League season.

Already under enough scrutiny for Liverpool’s listless season, Slot’s future could hang on Champions League qualification.

In Slot’s final pre-match press conference of the season, he confirmed that goalkeeper Alisson had trained with the side. The Brazilian has been absent since March with a hamstring issue, but is fit enough to play and goes straight back into the starting XI.

Jeremie Frimpong is on the bench after he missed Liverpool’s defeat by Aston Villa last time out. The Dutchman has suffered numerous hamstring issues this year.

Robertson, who will exit Anfield at the end of the season, starts his final game for Liverpool alongside fellow departee Salah.

Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis MacAllister and Ryan Gravenberch all start. On the wings, Rio Ngumoha gets another chance.

Alexander Isak missed the defeat to Villa but is on the bench today. After an injury-interrupted season, it would have been a risk to chuck the Swede straight into the firing line. Cody Gakpo starts up front.

Liverpool XI: Alisson; Jones, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Szoboszlai, Ngumoha; Gakpo

Subs: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Endo, Kerkez, Wirtz, Isak, Chiesa, Frimpong, Nyoni

Injured: Bradley, Ekitike, Leoni

Time and date: 4pm BST on Sunday, May 24, 2026

Venue: Anfield
