People on Merseyside woke up to a brilliantly sunny morning today (Saturday) as the mid-March weather became appropriately Spring-like.
The conditions are good news for those intending to celebrate "Super Saturday," the final weekend of the 2022 Six Nations matches. In fact, the Met Office expects weather records to "be beaten" this weekend, with temperatures in the UK now "on the up", with "lovely sunshine" and "very warm" weather across the country.
The forecast for today is a fine and dry Saturday with prolonged sunshine. It will feel cooler on the hills and along coasts, but warm for sheltered spots in the sun, with a maximum temperature of 17C.

It will be dry overnight with clear skies. It will feel chilly at times but temperatures will mostly be staying above freezing.
The good weather is set to continue for the rest of the weekend, with Sunday being another dry day with a bright start. However, the Met Office said it would be cooler than Saturday, but still feeling pleasant in the sun. The maximum temperature will be around 12C.
The outlook for the start of the week is for a largely dry period with light winds. Variable amounts of cloud but an increasing number of sunny intervals towards Wednesday as temperatures also rise. Fog patches possible overnight.
