Liverpool weather as grey skies turn into sunny intervals

Liverpool will see a grey start today, however sunny intervals will break through later on.

Today, Monday, November 28, it will be a brighter start than yesterday, with sunny spells and patchy cloud. There is a chance of some showers in the north to start, but the risk will fade away by afternoon, according to the Met Office.

Winds will also remain light and their will be a maximum temperature of 11C. Tonight will have "prolonged clear spells" according to forecasters.

The Met Office said this will lead to a colder night than on Sunday. Alongside light winds, this brings a risk of fog by the morning and there will be a minimum temperature 2C.

Independent forecasters have touted that there could be a repeat of the Beast from the East, which could bring up to four inches of snow to the UK. As temperatures plummet in many areas across the country, some weather reports have suggested that we could be seeing heavy snowfall and icy conditions within a few days.

The infamous 2018 Beast from the East saw Anticyclone Hartmut join forces with Storm Emma to wreak havoc across the UK. Blankets of snow resulted in closed roads and schools as well as a red snow warning from the Met Office, signifying a risk to life.

Whispers of a second-round of the storm started recently when Jim Dale, meteorologist for British Weather Services, said the Beast from the East could be "opening its eyes once again". However, the Met Office said it is too soon top predict.

A spokesman for the meteorological forecaster told the Daily Star : "The only sign of snow in our forecast at the moment is over the Scottish mountains overnight tonight, not unusual for the end of November.

"In the longer term, there are signals that higher pressure could move in from the middle of next week which could act to calm the weather down across the UK and lead to drier conditions."
