Chelsea came from behind on two occasions on Wednesday evening as they beat Luton Town 3-2 to avoid an FA Cup upset.
The Blues booked their place in the quarter-final of the competition as Thomas Tuchel looks to go one better than they managed last season after being beaten in the final to Leicester City at Wembley.
The west Londoners, following a predicted run of the quarter-final draw, have been handed a Championship team in Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge.
On paper, that may seem fairly straightforward for last season's finalists, but it may not be the case with Boro knocking out Manchester United and Tottenham in the previous two rounds.
The Championship club, now being managed by former Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder, are knocking on the door for a play-off position in the second-tier while their FA Cup dream continues.
Meanwhile, Liverpool were drawn against Everton or non-league Boreham Wood, who will be looking to cause a huge upset later this evening as they travel to Goodison Park to take on the Toffees, with the actual draw taking place before kick-off.
Manchester City, who could still win three major trophies this season, were handed a tie away at either Nottingham Forest or Huddersfield Town, with the all-Championship tie set to be played on Monday evening.
The final tie is an all-Premier League one in Crystal Palace welcoming Southampton to Selhurst Park.
If this is indeed the draw later today, then Chelsea supporters would surely be satisfied as they manage to avoid Liverpool and Manchester City - who are the two favourites to lift the FA Cup trophy in May, but Tuchel would guard his squad against becoming complacent against a solid Boro side.
Tuchel was asked prior to the win against Luton whether the FA Cup represented the "best chance" of a domestic trophy this season, and the Chelsea boss responded: "The best chance was on Sunday [defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final] because we were in the final.
"It was the closest chance and we should not think about the next final until we’ve played the next match because in football there is only one important match and it is the next one. This is how high-level football works and this starts tomorrow evening
"We have some obstacles to overcome and we have some boxes to tick if we want to win there. We need the right motivation, the right attitude, we need full commitment and it’s demanding and still we expect it from us. I don’t know.
"Is it the easiest or the closest or the most realistic? I don’t know. Let’s see what’s going on tomorrow and if we want to talk about it we need to win tomorrow and this is what we are focusing on."
