Liverpool vs Brighton: FA Cup prediction, kick-off time, team news, TV, live stream, h2h results, odds today

Liverpool vs Brighton - (ES Composite)

Liverpool continue their FA Cup campaign this weekend as they host Brighton in the fourth round.

The Reds beat Barnsley in short order in round three but have had mixed fortunes since, with galling defeats by Manchester City and Bournemouth in contrast with a 6-0 rout of Qarabag in the Champions League.

Liverpool can take heart from a midweek trip to Wearside, though, where they became the first team to beat Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League this season.

If it were not for Thomas Frank’s sacking on Wednesday morning, Brighton could reasonably be considered the Premier League’s crisis club.

Fabian Hurzeler is under some scrutiny now the Seagulls have won just two of their last 15 in all competitions.

Here’s everything you need to know about the match...

Liverpool vs Brighton team news

Liverpool will certainly be without Wataru Endo after he was stretchered off in agony in the Sunderland match.

Arne Slot confirmed the worst news possible in the pre-match press conference, saying: “We still need to do some assessment but it is clear and obvious that he will be out for quite a long time.

“He is a good centre-back and midfielder as well. In those positions, we are quite vulnerable over there as well if something happens.”

Joe Gomez came on in his place, himself returning from his latest lay-off, and may be handed a start against the Seagulls.

Dominik Szoboszlai will be available after serving a one-match suspension in midweek, but Alexander Isak, Jeremie Frimpong, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni are all absent.

Meanwhile for Brighton, the game comes too soon for Yasin Ayari, though he is making good progress from a shoulder issue.

Mats Wieffer is available for selection, while Solly March, Adam Webster and Stafanos Tzimas are all facing extended spells on the sidelines.

Liverpool vs Brighton prediction

Liverpool are far from consistent at the moment, though Brighton are trending downwards in a startlingly linear fashion.

The Seagulls were thoroughly uninspired in defeat at Villa Park on Wednesday, and will face a tougher opponent tonight. Do not expect them to offer much response.

Liverpool to win, 2-0.
