Liverpool Vs Aston Villa Preview
Liverpool
Arne Slot’s Liverpool are riding the crest of the wave after leading both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League tables. Still boasting a 100% win record in the latter.
The flying Dutchman oversaw a fantastic 4-0 win over last year’s undefeated Bundesliga winners Bayer Leverkusen on bonfire night. Colombian star Luis Diaz provided the spark and helped himself to a stunning hat-trick.
Domestically, the Reds have accumulated an impressive 25 points from their opening ten fixtures. Going into GW11, the Merseysiders will be confident of maintaining their superb start.
Many predicted a two-horse race for the title between Arsenal and Manchester City but Slot certainly didn’t get the script. Or his playing squad he inherited from club legend Jurgen Klopp.
Tuesday’s victory over Leverkusen was made all the more mighty owing to the fact that many supporters first-choice replacement for Klopp – former star Xabi Alonso – was taught a harsh lesson at Anfield.
Last time out against Brighton, Slot’s side came from a goal down to beat the Seagulls 2-1 thanks to goals from Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah.

Aston Villa
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa were on the receiving end of one of the strangest penalty decisions awarded in recent memory against Club Brugge in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Defender Tyrone Mings handled a pass from goalkeeper Emi Martinez when he thought the Argentine was kicking the ball to him to take the goal kick.
Hans Vanaken stroked home the resulting spot-kick to inflict Villa’s first defeat in Europe’s elite club competition this season. Naturally, Emery was fuming at the farcical moment of madness from his centre-back.
Domestically, Villa have struggled in recent weeks after an impressive start. They were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Crystal Palace and suffered a 4-1 drubbing against Tottenham last Sunday.
Nonetheless, the Lions occupy sixth position but facing a rampant Liverpool side will really test their resolve. Especially with the poor run of form they are in.
Ahead of Saturday’s 8pm kick-off, the best football betting sites in the UK make the Reds the 10/21 match favourites. The draw is available at 21/5 with Villa 11/2.
Liverpool Vs Aston Villa Team News
There are no fresh injury concerns for Liverpool as they look to make it nine wins from 11 in the Premier League this season. The quartet of Alisson, Harey Elliot, Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota all remain sidelined.
Andy Robertson is expected to replace Kostas Tsimikas at left-back and Dominik Szoboszlai is also set to return to the starting XI. The Hungarian will likely replace Curtis Jones.
Striker Darwin Nunez is set to lead the line with Tuesday’s hat-trick hero Luis Diaz moving back into his attacking winger role.
After his calamity in Bruges, Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings will likely return to the bench for the trip to Anfield as he takes precautions from his ACL injury.
Ross Barkley and Matty Cash also missed the game in midweek and are set to miss out once again on Saturday. Pau Torres is likely to feature from the off.
As to are Amadou Onana and Jacob Ramsey in the middle of the park. The midfield duo will come into the side at the expense of Leon Bailey and Boubacar Kamara.

Liverpool Vs Aston Villa Prediction
It’s hard to envisage anything but a comfortable Liverpool win on Saturday night. Especially owing to the fact they have had an extra day’s rest and played at home during midweek.
However, Aston Villa will be keen to reignite their early season form after a poor set of results. It will take a herculean effort to thwart the Merseysiders razor sharp attack on home soil, however.
Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Aston Villa
