Liverpool take on AC Milan in their final mid-season friendly on Thursday as Jurgen Klopp’s side gear up for their return to domestic action next week.
But while preparations to face the Serie A champions have been ongoing, the Reds have missed out on the opportunity to sign a striker labelled as the ‘next Haaland’. Elsewhere, a huge claim has been made about Sofyan Amrabat’s chances of joining the Reds, while another young right-back could be targeted as a star of the future.

Reds miss out on ‘next Haaland’
Liverpool are set to miss out on the signing of Molde striker David Datro Fofana after it was revealed that Chelsea had ‘struck an agreement’ with the Norwegian side.
The Reds were linked with the Ivory Coast forward back in November after his impressive start to the season began attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs. After just 24 games, the 19-year-old has 15 goals and five assists.
But according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a full agreement of around £8.6million has been struck between Molde and the Blues for Fofana, who has been compared to Erling Haaland as a result of his devastating goal record for the Norwegian outfit.

Amrabat agency claim
Fiorentina midfielder Amrabat continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool following his impressive World Cup with Morocco but a huge claim has now been made over a potential transfer to Merseyside.
It has already been reported that Jurgen Klopp has held a meeting with Amrabat’s representatives and a second appointment is said to have been pencilled in for after the World Cup. However, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio believes Amrabat’s agency will now push for a move to Anfield.
“I think Amrabat’s agency, Stellar, is going to make an attempt to bring him to Liverpool in the Premier League,” Di Marzio told Soccer News. “Everyone sees something in that, it would be the agency’s dream as well as that of the player in question.”
Liverpool target Spanish breakthrough star
Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Real Valladolid right back Ivan Fresneda according to the latest reports in Spain.
The Reds already purchased Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen over the summer as an understudy to Trent Alexander-Arnold, but it appears that further plans could be in place to add to their impressive array of young talent.
As per a report from Spanish outlet AS, Liverpool are just one of a number of clubs that have ‘already moved’ for the 18-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the biggest prospects in European football.
