Liverpool are still searching for that all important win that will help kick-start their season as the Reds approach the second-half of the campaign.
The first half has hardly been anything to shout about, with Jurgen Klopp's men currently languishing as low as ninth in the Premier League table after 19 games played. The Reds have won just eight of those, with their most recent outing coming in the form of a particularly dire 0-0 draw with fellow big-six strugglers Chelsea at Anfield.
As a result of the poor form, Klopp is under no illusions his squad needs strengthening before the January transfer window shuts. Whether Liverpool are actually able to secure some of the deals they desire or not is an entirely different story.
With that in mind, Mirror Football has identified some of the main transfer talking points surrounding the Reds on Tuesday, January 24.

Salah's Serie A replacement
It is a sequence of events that would certainly shock Anfield to its foundations, but Italian outlet Calciomercatoweb claim that Klopp is considering cashing in on Mohamed Salah and replacing him with Juventus star Federico Chiesa.
The Egyptian international has struggled at times this term and while his seven league goals are nothing to be scoffed at, the fact the most recent one came on Boxing Day represents how out of form the forward is.
At 30 years of age, Liverpool are running out of time to realistically cash in on Salah and the situation at Juventus in relation to their points deduction may make snagging Chiesa easier than ever.
Salah still has plenty of suitors, with Paris Saint-Germain reported to be interested. Using the fee to pay for the £60m-rated Chiesa, a player with spectacular talent and is five years Salah's junior could prove to be an inspired decision.
Nunes linked with Liverpool
It is well-documented that Klopp, along with every Liverpool fan, views the club's main weakness as the midfield and it is for that reason rumours linking the Reds with Wolves star Matheus Nunes have emerged.
With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita both expected to leave Merseyside at the end of the season, Liverpool desperately need reinforcements in the middle of the park.
According to the Daily Express, via GiveMeSport, Nunes has been identified as one option that could come cheaper than some of the other players Klopp's side have been linked with.
He would certainly command a lesser fee than Borussia Dortmund superstar Jude Bellingham, while he could even come cheaper than Chelsea ace Mason Mount despite the fact the England ace has just 18 months left to run on his deal at Stamford Bridge.
It remains unclear just how much Wolves would demand for a player they only signed themselves last summer.
Nat Phillips exit touted
Liverpool defender Nat Phillips could be heading towards the Anfield exit on a permanent basis.
This relates to the fact that fellow Reds defender Rhys Williams has been recalled from his loan spell with Championship outfit Blackpool.
Phillips was initially expected to remain at the club to serve as central-defensive cover following the injury to Virgil van Dijk leaving Liverpool light in that area.
However, with Williams being recalled, presumably to take up the role of cover, Phillips could now be on his way and get some regular game-time elsewhere under his belt.
