The latest Liverpool news and gossip is centred around the Reds’ pursuit of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.
The England man has shone at the World Cup for Gareth Southgate's Three Lions and looks the perfect signing to get the Merseysiders back on track after what was a difficult start to the campaign. Despite that, Liverpool reportedly face competition for the former Birmingham City starlet’s signature and could be forced to look for cheaper alternatives.
With that being said, take a look at the latest transfer news and rumours to have come out of Anfield over the past 24 hours:
Real Madrid make Bellingham call
The name on every Liverpool’s supporter’s lips, they could potentially be seeing Bellingham strut his stuff at Anfield sooner rather than later after Real Madrid made a bold decision. The Spanish giants have been noted alongside Liverpool as one of the midfielder’s standout admirers.
However, according to Defensa Central, Los Blancos would only be willing to pay up to €125 million (£107m) for his services. It remains to be seen if Liverpool would go beyond that price to sign him either, but that news from Madrid will certainly boost their hopes.
Bellingham, 19, has two-and-a-half years left to run on his Dortmund contract.

Reds open talks with Amrabat agent
Whilst Bellingham would be a costly acquisition for the Reds, a cheaper alternative could be Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. Like the England man, he is shining at the World Cup, with Morocco.
As per Corriere dello Sport, the Reds have already contacted the 26-year-old’s representatives ahead of a potential summer switch. He was previously on the verge of a move to the Premier League, with Tottenham reportedly interested, but eventually ended up staying with Fiorentina.
One advantage that Liverpool could have is Amrabat’s dream of playing in the Champions League.
Kruse explains failed Liverpool move
From two current Liverpool transfer targets to a former one, former Germany star Max Kruse has opened up on a failed switch to Anfield.
Speaking with Turkish outlet En Son Haber, the 14-time international revealed he was on the verge of a switch to Anfield in 2019 having left Werder Bremen at the end of his contract. He said: “Jurgen [Klopp] called me, 'Sorry Max. The decision to keep [Divock] Origi. Unfortunately, we won't be able to transfer you'.
"My transfer to Liverpool didn't happen at the last minute. I was very upset." The striker eventually joined Fenerbahce before going on to represent Union Berlin and former club Wolfsburg.
