Liverpool 'think about' signing Virgil van Dijk's £67m team-mate as Manchester United battle emerges

The summer transfer window is getting ever closer, and Liverpool are continuing to be linked with a host of potential new players they could bring in for next season.

Luis Diaz was the only signing in January, with the Reds agreeing a £49million with Porto to bring the Colombia international to Anfield.

With the season nearing it's conclusion, rumours over possible summer transfer deals are beginning to intensify.

Here, we take a look at some of the latest rumours doing the rounds online and on social media and how likely they are to happen.

Who?

What?

According to the report, Liverpool have placed the player on their transfer shortlist and are keen to bring him to Anfield this summer.

It has been claimed that Porto would want a fee close to £50m for Otavio’s services, given that’s the number for his release clause.

Otavio was first linked with Liverpool last summer when a £35m release clause was in his contract, but that number has since increased to £50m over the last 12 months.

Since he was first linked with a move to Liverpool, Otavio has scored just five goals in 48 appearances, but has contributed 13 assists and helped Porto win the league title in Portugal.

What?

According to the report, Liverpool are expressing an interest in signing the Netherlands centre-back at the end of the season.

It has been claimed that Liverpool are “thinking about” making a move to bring De Ligt to Anfield this summer.

Chelsea are also being credited with an interest, while Juventus are keen to extend De Ligt’s contract amid apparent interest from other clubs.

Liverpool were first linked with De Ligt back in 2019 when he was at Ajax, before Juventus paid the Dutch club £67m plus a further £9.5m in add-ons to sign the centre-back.

What?

According to the report, Liverpool have made a move to try and bring Antony to Anfield this summer.

It has been claimed that Liverpool have made a “concrete approach” with both the player and Ajax over a possible move at the end of the season.

Manchester United and Newcastle have also been credited with an interest in Antony.

The 22-year-old has had an impressive season in front of goal, with 12 in all competitions as well as providing 10 assists for his team-mates.
