Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has told Manchester City that the Reds will "keep fighting" for the Premier League title after their slip-up against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Reds drew 1-1 on Saturday evening - to the simmering frustration of Jurgen Klopp - allowing Pep Guardiola 's side to take full advantage less than 24 hours later and move three points clear at the top, now also boasting a superior goal difference.
Not only did the result at Anfield end a run of six successive wins for Liverpool, it also dented their hopes of winning an unprecedented quadruple. Despite the blow, Fabinho has affirmed that the Reds will do all they can to deny City a fourth league title in five years, knowing his team "can't stop."
Asked by liverpool.com if the dramatic draw felt more like a defeat even after Luis Diaz cancelled out Heung-min Son 's opener, the 28-year-old midfielder admitted: "Yes, a little bit. Of course, we want to win all the games. In the position that we are in the league now we needed the three points, but we are still alive. We are still fighting.
"Tottenham played a really good game. They are one of the best teams playing counter-attacking. We defended quite well, they didn’t create much but with the quality that they have they scored one goal. It was good for us to score Luis' goal and put pressure on them but it's 1-1 – one point. We take it. We keep fighting.
"We know we can't stop. The fans today were just unbelievable. The fans were pushing us. When we scored the first goal we had the sensation that we want to score the second because the fans were on fire. We try until the end. It’s not easy playing every three days in a good level. We did a good game in general. We didn't win, but we have positive things to take from this game."

Next up for Klopp's men is a trip to Aston Villa, where club legend Steven Gerrard will be hoping to show off his managerial prowess and inadvertently do City a favour. "We know we are fighting against one of the best teams in the world," Fabinho added.
"We know if we lose points in the fight against Man City, maybe it can cost the title. But we are human beings [and] they are human beings as well. We will hope they will lose points, and as I said before, we will keep fighting and try to win the next game against Aston Villa.
"It's nice to hear them singing after the game. They know we tried and fight. It's not easy to score a goal against Tottenham. They play really deep. They had good defenders and we tried. It's nice to have their support and hopefully they will keep supporting us until the end."
