Liverpool's stadium expansion plan has reached another key point in the construction timeline, as the club continue to rebuild the Anfield Road stand.
The Reds are currently increasing the capacity of the grandstand that sits opposite the Kop end by another 7,000 seats, taking Anfield's overall capacity to more than 61,000. And this week, progress on the build has become clearer from distance after the new huge roof truss was lifted on to the top of the stand.
Images shared on Twitter by Liverpool Football Club's communications vice-president, Craig Evans, shows the truss behind lowered into place by two huge cranes.
Evans tweeted: "The huge truss on the new Anfield Road Stand is being carefully lifted into position this morning."
And the ECHO's photographer Andy Teebay has been down to the ground to get pictures and a video that you can see at the top of this page.
Once complete, Anfield will be one of the largest Premier League stadiums in the country. The 7,000 extra Anfield Road seats are made up of 5,200 general admission seats and 1,800 lounge or hospitality seats. The expansion also includes improved concourse areas, hospitality areas, improved disability access and the relocation of the current family park to a covered location.
The redeveloped stand, which will see the lower tier of the existing stand retained, is expected to be fully completed in time for the start of the 2023/24 season and will create around 400 new match day roles.
