Manchester City and Liverpool will 'battle it out' for Portugal and Wolves midfield ace Matheus Nunes, according to reports.
A report in the Sunday Times (via the Daily Express ) states Nunes delayed agreeing on a club-record move to Bruno Lage's side earlier this summer in the hope Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would make a move for him. And the same piece suggests that Liverpool could be set to revive their interest in the 23-year-old in the coming transfer windows as they look to add to their midfield personnel at Anfield.
After initially deciding not to strengthen their midfield ranks during the summer, Liverpool made a move for Juventus and Brazil midfielder Arthur Melo on deadline day, due to the injuries Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson sustained in the opening Premier League games of the new season.
