Liverpool sent blunt 'unacceptable' Mohamed Salah contract message

Liverpool have been told it would be 'unacceptable' to let Mohamed Salah leave the club on a free transfer.

Salah’s current deal is set to run out at the end of next season, having already been at the club for six years. The Egyptian’s representatives have been locked in negotiations with Liverpool for several months but an agreement has yet to be reached.

Whilst the future of Salah is yet to be sorted out, Sadio Mane has already left Liverpool after six years on Merseyside. A £35million deal with Bayern Munich was agreed this month.

Now with the prospect of Salah possibly leaving on a free transfer next summer, former Tottenham Hotspur star Jamie O’Hara has labelled that as 'unacceptable'. The pundit went on to explain why the sale of Mane to Bayern was “good business” for Liverpool.

"He's going into the final year of his contract, still hasn't signed a new deal, you've seen Mane leave,” O’Hara told Talksport.

“Now they recouped their money with Mane - a good bit of business. He'd been at the football club, wanted to go in the end for whatever reasons, which will come out but I'm sure it was down to money.

"Now Salah could go on a free - that is unacceptable. Liverpool have set the benchmark for how to do business as a football club and they've done it brilliantly.

“But they've got to get this sorted out because Mo Salah cannot leave that football club on a free."
