A Liverpool secondary school is once again having to ask some pupils to learn from home as Covid-19 has led to 'unprecedented' levels of staff absences.
Calderstones School in south Liverpool has had to move to a hybrid learning model, where all year groups across the school will spend one day in five working from home. The changes were announced in a letter to parents and carers from headteacher Lee Ratcliffe.
Mr Ratcliffe outlined the situation, which has been largely brought about by rising covid cases amongst staff. He said: "This week we have reached the point at which we can no longer continue to remain open with a fully populated school. Staff absence is at unprecedented levels.
