Ben Doak has been the talk of the Liverpool academy so far this season, with his performances at youth level earning him a Reds debut against Derby County in the League Cup prior to the World Cup break, as well as a first Premier League matchday squad appearance.
As a result, despite having only just turned 17, you are now more likely to see him in action for Liverpool ’s Under-21s side as opposed to their Under-18s, with his last appearance at that level coming at the start of October against Nottingham Forest. That didn’t change on Saturday despite the young Reds being in mini mini derby action as they lost 2-1 to Everton at Finch Farm.
Yet Doak isn’t the only talented winger catching the eye in Liverpool’s youth ranks this season as another one of their talents looks to make their own breakthrough - Trent Kone-Doherty.
