The latest season of Married at First Sight UK has been nothing short of dramatic and one contestant claims there is still more to come.
Much to the delight of reality TV fans, the E4 show has been jampacked with drama and arguments from the get-go. Viewers have watched the newly-wed couples endure the likes of body-shaming, cheating allegations and partner swapping all whilst they embarked on the journey of a lifetime in a bid to find true love.
Adrian Sanderson, who makes up one-half of the same-sex couple representing Liverpool with Thomas Hartley being his husband, said there are still “big changes” to come in the next half of the E4 show.

The 37-year-old from Huyton told the ECHO : “I have no regrets, none whatsoever. Well, I wouldn’t call it a regret but one person disappointed me in the end and I was annoyed I didn’t see it coming. I (learned that I)have more patience than I thought, I’m a good judge of character from the offset, and filming a TV show is a hell of a lot harder than it looks.”
The digital designer explained that none of the cast members are supposed to be following each other on social media as “it gives away future plots,” before adding: “If I followed 80% of the cast, that suggests I don’t like the other 20%. Some people and some relationships are ok now, but there are big changes to come in the next half of the series, including some unexpected turns myself.”
Now in hindsight, Adrian was “shocked at how little the show is produced”. Claiming the “drama happened by itself” he said it would usually begin off camera and then continue on camera. He confirmed that if conversations held relevance to future storylines but weren’t initially recorded, the conversations would be mentioned later to give the “audience insight”.
Before appearing on the show, Adrian said he has “never been lucky in love” despite his birthday being on Valentine's day. However, the Liverpudlian has had three serious relationships beforehand with the longest lasting four years.
Adrian, who joked his celebrity crush was Timothy "Tinhead" O'Leary from Brookside, said: “If you lined by ex’s up, they’re all very different. I like style on a guy, good looks. But all that goes out the window if they’re not funny and empathetic. I want someone to bring something interesting to the table that I don’t already have, otherwise what’s the point?”
With new-found fame, Adrian has been juggling between his full-time job as well as trying to keep up with life on social media. He said: “It has been overwhelming. I know everyone uses that word but it really has. I have never felt so much love. People told me not to go near Twitter because it’s a minefield of hate; it’s my happy place. When someone stops me and asks me for a selfie I think it’s brilliant.”
Not giving anything away Adrian didn’t confirm if he was still married or back on the market, but did want to thank fans for accepting him.
He added: "I have had such a warming response that has made me well up at times. It wasn’t long ago we couldn’t marry at all and now look at us doing it on TV and actually being accepted. I feel extremely proud of the diversity in the show from race to sexuality and from an LGBTQ+ point of view, we are all so different and that only touches the surface. We still have a long way to go and if we help to move things forward, or make someone feel proud to be themselves, then our job is done."
