Liverpool's LGBTQ+ community call on Liz Truss to keep her promise to ban conversion therapy

Liverpool’s LGBTQ+ community are calling on Liz Truss to take action.

The Prime Minister previously called conversion therapy, which according to NHS England, is the attempt to change someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity, an abhorrent practice and promised to ban it in England and Wales. Now, the city’s community are asking her to keep her promise.

Across the world, all recent legislative bans have protected all LGBTQ+ people - including lesbian, gay, bi, and trans people - from these harmful practices. Two Liverpool-based organisations believe these rights and protections should now be extended to the UK.
