Leeds United face a difficult trip to Anfield this weekend where they'll face a Liverpool side struggling to keep up in the title race.
Liverpool suffered a fourth league defeat of the season on Saturday against Nottingham Forest, who started the day at the foot of the Premier League table.
The Reds were without Thiago Alcantara and Darwin Nunez against Forest. Despite their slow start, Liverpool will be buoyed by their recent record against Leeds, which has seen them win nine of their last 11 meetings across all competitions (D2).
Jurgen Klopp issued a number of injury updates after the defeat at Forest. Here is a list of which players are currently in the medical room, and when they could be set to return.

Darwin Nunez - thigh
Nunez was taken off during the 1-0 victory over West Ham last Wednesday with a tight hamstring. He was left out of the defeat at Forest but Klopp is confident that he will return for the trip to Amsterdam to face Ajax tomorrow night.
Klopp said (Oct 22): "Darwin should be back. This [Forest] game was just too early. Having another day recovery would have helped him, but we played today. At least that's my knowledge at the moment."
Possible return date: 26/10/2022
Thiago - ear
Thiago had already missed five games this season due to a hamstring injury and he was unavailable for the trip to the City Ground on Saturday after being sent to hospital with an ear infection.
Klopp said (Oct 22): "Thiago got this last night, a bad ear infection. There was no chance for him to do anything. We drove him home. The decision was taken at 5:15am. He woke up in the middle of the night and had the problem. I woke up an hour later, but the decision was taken the moment he woke up and the doctor went there and they went to hospital. It didn't work out, though. Yes, he was in that much pain he had to go to the hospital."
Possible return date: 26/10/2022
Ibrahima Konate - muscle
Konate has played just 21 minutes of Premier League football this season after missing the opening nine games with a knee injury. He returned to action against Arsenal and played from the start in the 7-1 win over Rangers. However, a muscle injury has ruled him out for the last three games, although Klopp has issued a positive update on the Frenchman.
Klopp said (Oct 22): "Ibou will train from Sunday on."
Possible return date: 26/10/2022
Naby Keita - thigh
Keita is yet to play a single minute across all competitions for Liverpool this season. He has been sidelined with a hamstring injury and has only once been fit enough to line up among Liverpool's subs (against Crystal Palace in August). The midfielder has returned to training, but Klopp has warned that he still has some way to go before being deemed fully fit.
Klopp said (Oct 22): "Ibou will train from Sunday on and Naby [Keita] as well, but Naby is far off. He starts training after a long period."
Possible return date: 06/11/2022
Joel Matip - calf
Matip was withdrawn in the 69th minute in the 3-2 defeat at Arsenal earlier this month due to a calf injury. He was ruled out for at least two weeks but Klopp has hinted that he may not return until next month.
Klopp said (Oct 21): "Everything is going well, but he needs a bit of time. I think with him, it will be tight until the World Cup break. Hopefully, in the last two games or three games, he might be in contention, but I don't know yet."
Possible return date: 06/11/2022
Luis Diaz - knee
Diaz sustained a knee injury against the Gunners, and although he didn't require surgery, the injury will keep him out until after the World Cup.
Klopp said (Oct 11): "Six to eight weeks, we will see. He looks like a quick healer, but we will see. Could have been worse."
Possible return date: 26/12/2022
Dioga Jota - calf
Jota picked up a calf muscle injury in the victory against Manchester City and has been ruled out of Portugal's World Cup campaign.
Klopp said (Oct 18): "He will miss the World Cup. [It's a] pretty serious injury in the calf muscle, and now the recovery process starts. We can say that because he will not be in for a long time, we talk about months."
Possible return date: Unknown
Artur - thigh
Artur has played just 13 minutes of football for Liverpool since arriving on loan from Juventus in the summer. The midfielder has a thigh injury and is not expected to return anytime soon.
Artur said (Oct 14): "Last week was not the best for me. Sadly as you know, an unfortunate injury to my left thigh will keep me out of action for a while. It comes just at a time when, after huge effort and lots of hard work, I was ready to establish myself in my new team and determined to fight for my dream of playing at the World Cup.
"It is now time for me to keep my head up and join forces with my family and do everything I need to with my team to make sure I comeback stronger as soon as possible. No obstacle will prevent me from progressing in my career and I have great ambition to show what I can do on the pitch."
Possible return date: Unknown
