Popular city centre restaurant Yard and Coop has announced its permanent closure this week.
The crowd-pleasing restaurant, known and loved for its signature buttermilk chicken, took to social media to confirm it would be shutting up shop after six years in business. The restaurant, based on Hanover Street, originally opened in December 2016.
The venue was a big hit thanks to its stylish and central location, boasting two floors to offer diners a spacious, secluded setting against the backdrop of the booming city centre.

Now, six years later, the team behind the venue have revealed with "great sadness" that this week will be its final in the city. The restaurant's last day will be this Friday, December 23.
In a post on Instagram, Yard and Coop penned: "It is with great sadness, that this will be our last week of Yard & Coop in Liverpool. Due to rising costs and tough times for everyone, as of this Friday night we will be closing our doors. We've had some great years and have had the honour of working with some great people and building an amazing team, we are so sad to be leaving the city.
"So all that is left to say is that if you want get your chicken fix one last time in Liverpool, then get down before Friday, raise a wing to us and come and say goodbye."
The team confirmed its sister site, based in Manchester, will still be open for those still craving a Yard and Coop fix. Fans of the restaurant flooded the comments section to share their thoughts on the news.
Jean said: "Sad times, gutted [you're] closing", while Jas said: "Absolutely gutting! My fave place in Liverpool. That's so sad".
Another fan commented: "This is devastating news! We've had the best times in there with you guys [heart emoji] you will be massively missed. Are you open Friday for one last drink?!" Lewis said: "Absolutely gutted, I'll have to begrudgingly go to MCR now. I wish the dirty bird wasn't sooo good".
Kelly said: "Nooooooo [sobbing emoji] absolutely gutted!" Nicola added: "Ah this so so sad, my kids love it here and we were regular visitors! Good luck to you all".
Yard and Coop can be found at Hanover Street, Liverpool, L1 3DN. It will permanently close this Friday, December 23 at 10pm.
