Liverpool are ready to end the race for World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister with a £70million deal for the Brighton midfielder.
Manchester United and Arsenal are interested, but the 24-year-old Argentina star is believed to be ready to commit his future to Liverpool. Talks are a long way down the line, as are negotiations for 37-year-old James Milner to leave Anfield after eight years for Brighton on a free transfer.
Liverpool are also favourites to sign England midfielder Mason Mount for around £50m, but the deal for the 24-year-old depends on the green light being given by incoming Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino.
