Liverpool 'prepare' £70m Robert Lewandowski bid in major swoop

The summer transfer window is edging closer and rumours are starting to intensify.

Liverpool made just one addition in January with the arrival of Luis Diaz from Porto. No matter what happens this season, Jurgen Klopp will look to strengthen his squad ahead of what will no doubt be another intense campaign.

Here, we take a look at some of the latest rumours doing the rounds online and on social media and how likely they are to happen.

Who?

Robert Lewandowski

Where?

El Nacional

What?

Robert Lewandowski is a 'priority' for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, if recent rumours are to be believed.

That's according to Spanish outlet El Nacional, who claim the Reds are preparing £70m a bid to sign the Poland international should he look to depart Bayern Munich. With question marks over the player's future, European clubs are starting to circle.

Like Mohamed Salah, Lewandowski is out of contract in 2023 and will likely leave the Allianz Arena this summer if it's not renewed. The likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also said to be interested in the player, but the report states Klopp's influence works in the Reds' favour.

It seems unlikely this one will happen, especially given Salah's contract situation. Lewandowski is 33 and his wage demands won't be too far off Salah's, who is three years younger. If it comes to it and the winger does end up leaving Liverpool, you'd expect the club to replace him with someone much younger.

Who?

Divock Origi

Where?

Calcio Mercato

What?

Liverpool striker Divock Origi is edging closer to a move away from Anfield, if recent reports are anything to go by. The 26-year-old is out of contract in the summer and clubs are already pushing for his signature.

Serie A giants AC Milan appear to lead the race and reports in recent days suggest a deal could be finalised in the 'coming weeks'. Calcio Mercato say a 'positive meeting' was held between the player's representatives and AC Milan on Monday. It goes on to say further meetings will be held in the coming weeks with the intention of wrapping up a deal.

Origi is a likely departure this summer and will surely walk away for free when his contract expires. He is free to talk to clubs from abroad and a number of clubs in Italy have been linked with the player in recent months.

Who?

Raphinha

Where?

Fabrizio Romano

What?

Liverpool are 'exploring' the possibility of signing Leeds United winger Raphinha, according to reports.

The Reds have been heavily linked with the 25-year-old in recent times and Liverpool's interest in the player is no secret. Reports suggested Leeds were looking to tie the Brazilian down to a fresh contract that reflected his value to the club, although the current league standings is not a pretty sight.

It has been claimed that Raphinha could be available for as little as £25m if Leeds are to get relegated this season. They're currently just seven points clear of the relegation places, although the teams below them all have games in hand.

“Liverpool are exploring the possibility of signing Raphinha," Romano said on YouTube.

"If Leeds get relegated, there will be some really interesting clauses. It’s around £25m, so it could be a big opportunity on the market.

“Let me just add, Chelsea were at the front of the queue for Raphinha in the January window.”

Raphinha will certainly be one to keep an eye on this summer, especially if Leeds do in fact go down. There will be plenty of competition for his signature, but Liverpool will be well-placed if they do choose to act on their interest with a concrete offer.
