Liverpool Premier League fixtures 2023/24 - Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on opening day

Liverpool will kick off the 2023/24 Premier League with a visit to Chelsea on August 13.

The Reds made the request to begin the new term away from home earlier this year to facilitate the finishing touches that are being placed on the new Anfield Road stand, which remains on schedule to open its doors in a couple of months.

The new 61,000-seat stand will play host to Bournemouth on August 19 as Liverpool unveil their new £80m stand but before that it is a visit to Stamford Bridge for what will be Mauricio Pochettino's first competitive game as Chelsea boss. That fixture will be televised on Sky Sports at 4.30pm as the Reds kick-off their campaign in potentially explosive style in west London.

A visit to Newcastle United completes August for Jurgen Klopp's side with that trip to St James' Park initially pencilled in on Saturday, August 26, although that match may also be subjected to television treatment.

The first Merseyside derby of the season is at Anfield on October 21 before what could be the potential final meeting between the local rivals at Goodison Park on March 16 2024.

The first clash with champions Manchester City is slated for Saturday, November 25 at the Etihad before the reverse fixture is played at Anfield on March 9, while Manchester United visit Merseyside on December 16 ahead of a meeting at Old Trafford in early April.

Liverpool will play five of their six post-Europa League games at home in what will be viewed as a welcome development for Klopp and his players.

Match-days one, three, four, five and six of the European competition will all be followed up by games at Anfield with the odd one out resulting in a trip to Brighton, which will be moved to Sunday October 8.

With all Europa League games being played on a Thursday evening, home fixtures with West Ham United (September 23), Nottingham Forest (October 28), Brentford (November 11), Fulham (December 2) and Manchester United (December 16) will all be moved back at least 24 hours.

Liverpool will travel to Burnley on Boxing Day and will see out the calendar year with a visit from Newcastle United on December 30. The final game of the campaign sees the Reds host Wolves on May 19.
