Joe Gomez has revealed the Liverpool squad are "excited" to see Calvin Ramsay finally in action as the teenager approaches a return to fitness.
The highly-rated Ramsay joined the Reds from Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen in the summer in an initial £4million deal that could ultimately rise to £6.5m.
The 18-year-old right-back, who will hope to challenge Trent Alexander-Arnold for a starting role, has been unable to yet feature in team training as he recovers from a back issue Liverpool sought to address after it emerged during his medical.

Ramsay, though, has been working in the gym at the AXA Training Centre at Kirkby and is expected to soon start full training with a view to a belated Reds debut.
And Joe Gomez, the deputy for Alexander-Arnold last season but this term back in his usual centre-back role, has explained how Liverpool are looking forward to seeing the summer signing in action.
“Calvin seems like a really down-to-earth lad," said Gomez, speaking to the Liverpool FC emagazine Walk On.
"Obviously, we weren’t able to mix with him in training in pre-season, which was unfortunate, but hopefully he’s nearly there in overcoming that little issue and I think we’re all excited to see him play.
“He’s obviously a talented player, which is why he’s at this club, and from what he’s like around the place, he seems a nice, humble lad. We’re looking forward to seeing him getting involved on the pitch.”
