Alisson Becker 7
No chance with the opener and confident with the ball at his feet, which occasionally arrived via some iffy passes.
Trent Alexander-Arnold 7
Out of position for Leicester’s first and not always convincing going forward, although cross was deflected in by Faes for equaliser. Much improved in battle with Barnes second half. Subbed.
Joel Matip 6
Struggled a bit during the opening whirlwind but settled in helping quell Vardy. Some difficult moments second half when losing footing.

Virgil van Dijk 6
Pulled out of position for Leicester’s first but gradually managed to calm down matters defensively. Solid.
Andy Robertson 4
Played Leicester onside for the opener, almost set them clear again with a dreadful crossfield pass and wasteful with crosses. Slight improvement second half but subbed.
Jordan Henderson 5
Beaten too easily by Dewsbury-Hall for the opener and almost coughed up another Leicester goal. Way below best before break but managed to cut out errors second half.
Harvey Elliott 5
Some busy runs but couldn’t make much happen going forward. Kept at it and again shifted to left wing. Subbed.
Thiago Alcantara 8
The one Liverpool player to approach anything like his level, and made one vital saving challenge first half. Very impressive.
Mohamed Salah 7
Fired one first-time effort just wide and had goal disallowed, and became more involved second half when missing good chance and twice denied by Ward.
Darwin Nunez 7
Created opening for Salah and struck the inside of the post for Faes to score his second own goal. Constant menace and twice close again after break.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 6
Not everything came off, but helped Liverpool with willingness to press and run at the Leicester defence and his touch sent Nunez away for the second. Subbed.
Naby Keita (for Oxlade-Chamberlain 62) 6
Made positive difference with some good pressing moments.
Kostas Tsimikas (for Robertson 62) 6
Solid enough on his inclusion, and one good forward run.
Joe Gomez (for Alexander-Arnold 86)
Helped Liverpool see out the game.
Stefan Bajcetic (for Elliott 86)
Roused the crowd with some thundering challenges during his cameo.
