Fabinho insists Liverpool are not getting distracted by talk they could win the quadruple this season.
The Reds won the Carabao Cup last month, beating Chelsea in the final, and they are still in the Champions League and FA Cup. They are also just six points off leaders Manchester City in the Premier League with a game in hand.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are back in Champions League action tonight, when they can book a quarter-final spot by taking advantage of their 2-0 lead over Inter Milan going into the second leg at Anfield.
That would put Liverpool one step closer to becoming the first English team to win the quadruple, but Fabinho says the squad are paying no attention to such talk.
“First of all, it was really good for us to win the Carabao Cup,” said the Brazilian midfielder. “The way we won it was special as well.
“When you play well, when you already win one trophy, I think it’s normal that everyone talks about ‘Liverpool can win four trophies’. I’m not thinking too much about this.
“We are thinking game by game, because it’s really hard to win two or three competitions, or even four. It’s really hard.
“We are still in the FA Cup and in the fight in the Premier League.
“Of course, we play at a big club like Liverpool and we want to win everything. But let’s try to win the Inter Milan game and then we have to focus game after game.”
