Liverpool are currently taking a break from their commitments with the international break - the only one of the season before the World Cup - currently in full swing.
That has allowed the Reds to take a step back from their stuttering start to the new campaign and will be working on an improvement once they return to the pitch next weekend. Regardless, that has not stopped updates n Jurgen Klopp's side coming out of Anfield over the past week.
With that being said, here are the best stories coming out of Merseyside over the last 24 hours from Mirror Sport .
Lineker sends Southgate Alexander-Arnold message
Former England star Gary Lineker has called out Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate for leaving Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold on the substitutes bench amid the fallout to the slender defeat to Italy.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote: "A gentle reminder that England's most creative midfielder, @Madders10 was not in the squad of 28. And England's most creative footballer, @TrentAA sat on the bench getting splinters in his a***…"
England are next in action next week as they take on Germany in their final UEFA Nations League match of the current campaign.

Skrtel suffers injury in legends match
Former Liverpool star Martin Skrtel found himself being taken off the pitch as Liverpool legends squared off with their Manchester United counterparts.
The Slovakian was involved in a sickening clash of heads with former Red Devils’ forward Fraizer Campbell. He attempted to play on following the incident but eventually had to step out of the game.
Fortunately, he left the pitch on his own accord instead of on a stretcher with the Reds eventually going on to win after goals from Mark Gonzalez and Florent Sinama-Pongolle.
Reds academy graduate without club
Former Liverpool starlet Jerome Sinclair currently finds himself without a club having failed a summer trial with former club Oxford United.
The young forward - who left Anfield in 2016 in a move to Premier League rivals Watford - only made 11 appearances for the Hornets and departed on a free transfer last summer.
Following a loan spell with CSKA Sofia, he has found himself unemployed for the last year and had a trial with Oxford United but was not offered a permanent deal.
