Liverpool news: Ryan Gravenberch warns Bayern as Jurgen Klopp gives positive update

Liverpool are preparing to take on West Ham in the Premier League on Wednesday night as Jurgen Klopp aims to finish the season on a high.

The Reds have put together a promising run of four games unbeaten in the league to give themselves a chance of climbing the table after a difficult campaign. While they are concentrating on finishing well in the Premier League, one eye is already on the summer transfer window.

Midfield is the biggest area that needs addressing for Liverpool, who are braced for a major turnover of players. There is also the issue of appointing a new sporting director to think about, meaning it’s a very busy time for the club.

Here Mirror Football takes you through the latest news from Liverpool, from on and off the pitch.

Gravenberch warns Bayern

Ryan Gravenberch has emerged as a solid Liverpool transfer target over the past few weeks – and it seems the Dutch midfielder is growing annoyed with his situation at Bayern Munich.

The former Ajax midfielder has started just once in the Bundesliga this season and that will strengthen Liverpool’s case after they held talks with his agent and his father.

“Training and playing at the top level for a year is beautiful and instructive. Although playing, it is mainly training,” he told VI.

“That has to change next season, then I really want to play weekly again. I haven't spoken to the club management yet, so just wait and see what happens. But it is clear that this role does not match my expectations.”

Klopp gives update

Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool are working hard to find a replacement for sporting director Julian Ward, who will step down from his position in the summer after just one season in charge.

“From what I hear it's going in the right direction. Is there any club without a guy in the role of sporting director? Pretty much everyone has one,” Klopp said on Tuesday.

"It makes sense. How many clubs have a sporting director these days? I don't know how they did it in the past without one. You need people for that, there's no chance. I am happy with the structure."

Bradley labelled a “contender”

Conor Bradley has caught the eye on loan at Bolton this season and Klopp says he could join the first-team squad next season.

Bradley has been a regular fixture for Ian Evatt’s side in League One and offers another option at right-back next season – an interesting option, given Trent Alexander-Arnold ’s hybrid role in midfield of late.

"We are in constant contact," Klopp said. "For sure he's a contender [to feature next season]. The plan at the moment is to bring him back and keep him but we will see."
