Jurgen Klopp's side took an early lead through Salah before Kudus's spectacular equaliser gave the Dutch champions hope of pulling off a shock result. Liverpool left it late to secure all three points, but Matip's 89th-minute winner ensured that the Reds got over last Wednesday's humiliation in Naples.

Fans observe minute's silence
Liverpool and Ajax supporters impeccably observed a minute's silence in memory of Queen Elizabeth II ahead of the two teams' Champions League clash. The match was the Reds' first since the late Queen died at the age of 96 last Thursday, following the postponement of the weekend's Premier League fixtures.
Liverpool players emerged from the Anfield tunnel wearing black armbands "as a mark of respect" for the late monarch, while flags at Anfield were lowered to half-mast. Reds captain Jordan Henderson, alongside Liverpool Women's skipper Niamh Fahey, also paid tribute by signing a book of condolences on Monday.
Barcelona hero score hat-trick
Liverpool's under-19s continued their perfect start to their latest UEFA Youth League campaign after Oakley Cannonier scored a hat-trick against Ajax. The 18-year-old forward made it four goals from just two appearances in European competition this season, with Lewis Koumas' late goal to round off the scoring to give the Reds a 4-0 victory.
Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish and Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek were among the crowd watching the game, but they've likely caught a glimpse of Cannonier before.
